Customs:St.Patrick's Day
Saint Patrick's Day is a holiday that is celebrated yearly on March 17th(which is my best friend's birthday) There's a big parade that Irish people go to to celebrate, however I never really knew what they were celebrating.
History: It started as a Catholic holiday and became an official feast day in the early 1600s. It has become more of a celebration of Ireland's culture over the years, yet we celebrate it in America also. In 1903, St.Patrick's Day became a public holiday in Ireland. We don't get the day off from school but we do get to wear green if we wear uniform daily. It is also celebrated deeper in Irish culture, by wearing shamrocks,or clovers, attending masses and and parades.

The New York Post and the Daily News both have articles regarding this brawl, which is blamed on Kayla Gholson. After Banneker team lost, a melee began because of a comment screamed out by a fan.
